Our Wedding

Our story didn’t exactly start with a slow burn; it started with a foundation built in John Day in late 2018 and was immediately thrown into a trial by fire. While most new couples are arguing over where to eat dinner, by 2019, we were beginning the legal battle of a lifetime.	For three years, we stood side-by-side fighting against false accusations and the heartbreak of Tyler being kept from his kids. It was a journey that would have broken most people, but it only proved one thing: we are immovable. Three years later, justice finally caught up. Tyler won his trial, held the system accountable, and we emerged not just as survivors, but as a literal powerhouse.		That victory paved the way for the life we have now in our big, beautiful home, a sanctuary we share with our five children. We are the definition of a "perfectly chaotic" blended family: Haley’s daughter, Tyler’s three daughters and son, four dogs, and a handful of horses. It’s a lot of laundry, a lot of hay, and a whole lot of love.		Our connection goes way beyond the front door. Because we apparently didn't get enough of each other during a three-year legal war, we decided to become professional partners, too. As defense investigators, we spend nearly twenty-four hours a day together, working cases and navigating the legal system as a unified front. We are "The A-Team", which is lucky, because after spending that much time together, you either have to be soulmates or crazy. (We’re sticking with soulmates).		We even have the matching tattoos to prove we’re in this for the long haul.		When we finally put the case files away, we’re usually chasing adrenaline. In the winter, you’ll find us on snowmobiles, and in the summer, we’re loading the kids onto the wakeboard boat to see who can stay upright the longest.		We’ve seen the toughest parts of life together, and it only made us realize that there’s no one else we’d rather have in our corner. We are partners, colleagues, best friends, and, finally, husband and wife.

Adventure Awaits (Or Just Nap in a Chair)The "I’m an Athlete" Option: Hiking &amp; Biking The camp is surrounded by the Malheur National Forest, which has more trails than we have wedding favors. If you want a real challenge, the Strawberry Mountain Wilderness is right next door. Just remember: if you go for a "quick morning hike" and aren't back by the ceremony, we’re starting without you.The "Patience is a Virtue" Option: Fishing Grab your gear and head over to Big Creek or Lake Creek, which run right through the valley. If you’re feeling ambitious, High Lake is a hike-in spot known for brook trout. Please note: "Wedding Guest" is not a valid substitute for an Oregon fishing license—keep it legal, folks!The "Look at that Bird!" Option: Wildlife Viewing Logan Valley is a celebrity hotspot for birds. Keep an eye out for Sandhill Cranes, Long-billed Curlews, and Upland Sandpipers. If you see an Elk or an Antelope, feel free to take a photo, but please don't try to invite them to the reception. We already hit our guest count limit.The "Classic Camp" Olympics Right on the camp grounds, we’ll have the essentials:Horseshoes &amp; Volleyball: For those who want to settle family feuds with sports.Baseball &amp; Ping-Pong: Show off those skills you haven't used since middle school.The Campfire: The ultimate destination for anyone whose favorite activity is "sitting and staring at flames."The "Flower Power" Walk June is peak season for wildflowers in the valley. If you aren't into strenuous hiking, just take a stroll through the meadows. It’s like a botanical garden, but with more bugs and less gift shops.
